Philip addison for the re-run of Parliamentary primaries in the Klottey Korle Constituency in the Greater Accra Region





–– NPP set date for re-run of Klottey Korle primaries.

 The decision to re-run the primaries follows a legal battle initiated by defeated aspirants Philip Addison and Nii Adjei Tawiah.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced a date for the re-run of the Klottey Korle and Nkwanta South Constituencies.


The opposition party in a statement signed by the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu.said “The party eventually took the decision after a series of back and forth regarding the possible re-run of the Parliamentary elections in the constituency.”

The re-run of the primaries comes on the back of a legal mêlée initiated by defeated aspirants Philip Addison and Nii Adjei Tawiah.

In the contest Philip Addison polled 22 votes while Nii Nortey garnered 393 votes and Tawiah had 19 votes.

The  Parliamentary primary in the Nkwanta South Constituency will also be conducted as follows:

OPENING OF NOMINATIONS: FEBRUARY 15, 2016
NOMINATION CLOSES: FEBRUARY 17, 2016
VETTING OF ASPIRANTS: FEBRUARY 19, 2016
NOTICE OF POLLS: FEBRUARY 24, 2016
DAY OF ELECTION: MARCH 5, 2016

All rules and regulations governing the conduct of the 2015 Parliamentary Primaries still holds. Stakeholders are entreated to ensure a smooth process.

However, decision on outstanding constituency primaries would be concluded soon.
